So well established is BIS's IBDP program in Mumbai that it is easy to forget that it began only in 2011! What makes it distinctive is that it is able to get students to high levels of academic achievement without sacrificing the values that have always characterized BIS: stimulated learners thriving, in small classes, within a climate of individuated support. Limiting the DP cohort size to forty and having twenty teachers dedicated to DP instruction fosters such a climate.

 

Small size, and the fact that most BIS 10th-graders continue on into BIS's DP program, makes BIS highly selective for external applicants. However in light of BIS's long-standing commitment to diversity and inclusion, it invites applications from all, provides partial need-based scholarships, and supports admitted students with special educational needs.
